Mira

Hello every one and welcome to Cajamarca. Today it is 75 degrees, partly cloudy, and extremely dusty.

I have very little news so far other than I am psychologist, a teacher, and a father. Two of those are true.

Home is now a luxerious apartment with 1200 square feet, a working toilet and a bird named Mercadito. One of those is true.

Even though Peru is said to be a third world country, I witnessed some of the most progressive events of my life. A gay and lesbian child parade, a lot full of solar powered cars, and a talking monkey. None of those are true.

Miguel Lawrence Don,

This is my first ever visit to the land o' blogs and I am, to say the least, confused and slightly flustered. I know not the vernacular you bloggers use and for the timebeing prefer to refrain from signing up for an account. I will just forget the password and mess your lovely blog up.

I am so so so glad to hear you are doing well. Your writing is fantastic! I did not realize this was all you. Write me a short story please! I would like you to incorporate Sol, Philip Roth, the pharmaceutical pens your dad gives you, the lactose-intolerant pre-frosh with the super blond afro-hair, coloured flags, and a bicycle. Take your time.

To all those reading: I apologize for what has turned into a personal e-mail. I'll get used to this blog thing. Oxox -Debbie

My best friend in middle school's name was Becca Levine Schwartz and her sister's name was Mira. I was 13 before I found out what "mira" means in Spanish. MIRA!
